Doreve Nicholaeff, president of Nicholaeff Architecture + Design, one of the area’s premier architectural and design firms located in Osterville, MA, will be one of the featured speakers at the workshop “Real Solutions for the Home: Restoration, Preservation and the Historic in Design”, on Friday, July 27th at 11:00 am. Presented by Design New England as part of their Design Salon Series, this event is hosted in conjunction with the Newport Antiques Show, which will be held from July 27th through July 29th at 372 Purgatory Road, Middletown, RI.
In addition to Ms. Nicholaeff, other speakers will be joining her from Woodmeister Master Builders, Ally Coulter Designs, NanaWall Systems, Inc., and Royal Building Products.
Nicholaeff Architecture + Design, founded by Doreve Nicholaeff, approaches architecture in the context of a total analysis of the site and its characteristics – topography, geology, indigenous vegetation, wind direction, orientation, surrounding houses, borrowed view paths, and the architectural vocabulary. Ms. Nicholaeff’s passion is to create homes for her clients that are truly theirs, singular and uncompromising. She has designed homes throughout the country including Carnegie Abbey in Newport.
Ms. Nicholaeff is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB), the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), the Boston Society of Architects and the NCBR (Newport County Board of Realtors). The winner of three (3) 2011 PRISM Awards for excellence in design, her firm is consistently featured in both regional and national home and design publications including Fine Homebuilding Kitchen & Baths, Design New England, TRENDS, Renovation Style, Florida Design, Boston Common, New England Home Cape & Islands, New England Home, Better Homes & Gardens, Beautiful Baths, and the Boston Globe Magazine among others.
Tickets to the Newport Antiques Show are $12 each and include admission to the workshop along with a free gift bag for attendees. Proceeds from ticket sales support two non-profits, The Newport Historical Society, and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Newport County.
