The Wellesley Historical Society (WHS) has made great progress this past year and is now one step closer to being able to effectively use their new property at 323 Washington Street, also known as the Stanwood House. Meadowbrook Day Camp has completed the second year of Drobots Drone STEM Camps. The number of children participating doubled and the campers had a great time. Gretchen Larkin, head of school for Charles River School, was awarded the Chief Executive Leadership Award from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) at the annual conference. Larkin is one of only two elementary school heads to receive this award, traditionally given to leaders of colleges and universities. Charles River School is an independent PreK-8 school in Dover that challenges and engages students through its hands-on approach to learning.

The Landscape Design Council (LDC) of Massachusetts presented three awards at the 2019 Boston Flower & Garden Show held in March. The winners were Samantha’s Gardens, Inc., Paul Massad Landscaping LLC, and Interiors by MS. The theme of this year’s show was “The Beauty of Balance.” The LDC panel of judges was made up of Regina Hajjar of Weston, Mary Bowen Nokes of Lexington, and Frances Y.J. Wheeler of West Boxford.
