The Cambridge School of Weston (CSW) has announced that it will hold its annual Empty Bowls Fundraiser to benefit Bristol Lodge Soup Kitchen in Waltham, which delivers an extensive system of community-based substance abuse and social service programs. The event will take place on Friday, February 15, 2019 from 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm, in the Community Gallery of The Garthwaite Center for Science and Art, at CSW.

The cost of admission is $15 for students and $25 for adults. Attendees will receive a unique ceramic bowl to fill with a soup or stew of their choice. Tickets may be purchased at the door; no advance registration is required. Please note that this event is cash only.

Attendees will have an opportunity to choose from more than 100 bowls painted by members of the CSW community, while raising awareness about hunger in Middlesex County. Empty Bowls features group and individual student performances and bowlable soups and stews donated by local restaurants, CSW parents and CSW faculty. Food donations are appreciated; suggested items include pasta, noodles, rice, breads, soup, salads, desserts or other items. All food, along with a detailed list of ingredients, may be dropped off on February 15 in the Garthwaite between 2:30 and 5:30 pm.

Raffles for museum passes, artwork, sports memorabilia, game tickets, gift cards and other items will help raise additional funds to support Bristol Lodge Soup Kitchen.
Last year, the event raised more than $3,000, which was used to provide about 2,400 meals to working families in the Waltham area, according to Michael Hannon, Bristol Lodge Director of Food Service. Each year, Bristol Lodge Soup Kitchen provides its families close to 133,000 pounds of food.
