You may or may not have heard of CBD oil, which is turning up everywhere. You can find it in natural food stores, gift shops, and, of course, online. It’s even being sold at the front counter of a national shoe store chain in our area. So, what is CBD oil, exactly?

CBD, or cannabidiol, is a compound derived from the hemp or cannabis plant, the same plant that marijuana comes from. The difference is that CBD has very low levels of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), the compound in marijuana that makes you high. In fact, the limit for the level of THC in CBD products is 0.3 percent. As a result, CBD is legal in most states.
