Family Promise 6th Annual “Walk Away Homelessness” Fundraiser
Family Promise Metrowest, a community response to family homelessness, will host its 6th Annual Walk Away Homelessness fundraiser on Saturday, April 11, 2015 in Natick.
The Walkathon is a family friendly 5K walk, rain or shine, from the Natick Common to Natick High School and back. Registration begins at 7:45 am. Warm up exercises will take place at 8:15 am, led by fitness instructor Julie Walderzak of H2K Happy Healthy Kids Fitness in Sudbury, MA.
The walk officially starts at 8:30 am with activities ending by 11am. The first 500 registered walkers will receive a T-shirt provided by The Walking Company. Walkers raising more that $100 will be entered into a raffle to win JetBlue flights, Red Sox tickets and more!
In addition to the walk itself, the day’s events will be hosted by WROR 105.7 FM Radio personality LBF. Children’s activities and face painting will be provided by Bright Horizons Childcare and Garden Gate Academy of Natick. Participants can also enjoy chair massages by Down to Earth Muscular Therapy.
Come join The WROR street team for fun, music, games and prizes while raising funds to support Family Promise Metrowest. Last year’s event had 375 walkers, and this year close to 500 are expected!
