NatureWorks now uses leaf “duff” instead of traditional bark mulches almost exclusively on their properties because it offers many benefits over bark mulch. Many traditional mulches are dyed with chemicals that leach into soil and offer little nutritive value. Leaf duff is made from partially decomposed leaves, twigs, stems, and bark, and releases nutrients into the soil. With a finer texture than bark mulch, there’s no hard crust, and it still suppresses weeds and helps the soil retain moisture.  For more information, visit www.natureworkslandscape.com.
