Participants are then welcome to enjoy a free ice cream after the tour from White Mountain Creamery.
At 2 pm all are invited to join Wellesley College students and depart for Boston (via bike, public transport or carpool) to attend the Moving Planet parade which starts at 3:00, followed by a 4 pm rally.
“The Expo and bike tour are part of a huge international event, yet it showcases so many ways Wellesley residents can achieve the town’s goal of reducing carbon emissions 10% by 2013, while lowering their bills along the way,” said Quentin Prideaux, resident and organizer of the Wellesley event. “Avid and novice bikers alike are excited to be physically moving into Boston using as few fossil fuels as possible as a way of exemplifying the spirit of the Moving Planet event,” Prideaux said.
