WELLESLEY ROTARY CLUB’S 53RD ANNUAL PANCAKE FESTIVAL FLIPS FOR WELLESLEY LITTLE LEAGUE PROGRAM
Annual fundraiser will be held at Wellesley Middle School on May 17, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m
For Wellesley residents who can’t get enough of both baseball and breakfast, the Rotary Club of Wellesley is teaming up with the Wellesley Little League to host the perfect event for fans of the flapjack. On May 17th, the service organization will hold its 53rd annual Pancake Festival at Wellesley Middle School (50 Kingsbury Street). For only $7, baseball fans will enjoy all the pancakes you can eat along with a serving of turkey or ham, plus coffee, juice, milk or water.
Last year over 2,500 local residents enjoyed hot pancakes along with beverages and breakfast sides. Rotarians gladly prepared and served over 8,000 pancakes to raise funds for the organization’s baseball uniforms, equipment, and field preparation and game management. Wellesley Little League serves over 1100 youth.
“Wellesley Rotary is proud to continue this longstanding tradition supporting our town’s youth,” said Vin Spoto, Secretary of the Wellesley Rotary and co-founder of Pinnacle Residential Properties in Wellesley, an event sponsor. “This event is a wonderful opportunity to showcase our Rotarians’ talents and networks in service to others. Community programs that Rotary was able to fund from last year’s festival include: tutoring disadvantaged children at the Fiske School, establishing an adolescence wellness program for high school and middle school students, planting of over 400 saplings helping to keep Wellesley green, and sending high school students to leadership programs.”
Gold sponsors for this year’s Pancake Festival are Roche Bros. and Pinnacle Residential Properties, both located in Wellesley. Silver sponsors are Reynolds Electric, Wellesley Bank, and the Wellesley Townsman. Bronze contributors are H.A. Sancomb & Sons and Starbucks.
Tickets are $7 per person or $20 for four, and can be purchased through any Wellesley Little League coach or parent, or at Pinnacle Residential Properties (555 Washington Street, 781-237-5000) during office hours. Donations are also welcome.
The mission of the Rotary Club of Wellesley is to maximize its member’s talents, skills and networks in order to provide service to others, with a focus on strengthening local, national and international communities in the areas of literacy, health and education while fostering leadership skills.
