On Monday, March 23rd S+H Construction, award-winning experts in residential and historic renovations, along with the Newton Historical Society’s Century Club will host a panel of experts for a lively discussion on renovating a historic property. Entitled “Historic Renovation: Challenges and Solutions,” the informal Q & A presentation will focus on how to remain true to a home’s historic character while making it functional for contemporary living.
Moderated by Kyle Hoepner, editor-in-chief of New England Home magazine, the panel includes: Doug Hanna, president of S+H Construction; Sarah Lawson, S+H project manager; Treff LaFleche, Historic Newton board member and principal of LDa Architecture & Interiors; and Dee Elms, principal of Terrat Elms Interior Design. The panelists will discuss the common challenges historic homeowners and prospective historic home buyers face when restoring a historic property. Key points will include the different levels of restoration, the permitting process and how to assemble a knowledgeable team to help with the project.
