A seasoned editor leads a class on writing stand-out picture books. A literary agent provides one-on-one manuscript critiques. A handful of aspiring and established authors meet for quiet writing time and tasty snacks. This is The Writers’ Loft — a place where writers gather, work, learn, connect, discuss, and inspire one another. Wellesley resident and writer Heather Kelly founded the nonprofit organization in 2013, with help from fellow writers. Located in Sherborn, “The Loft” has now become a creative hub for more than 500 writers who regularly attend workshops, meet with critique groups, connect with editors and agents, and write.
