Waterstone at Wellesley Invites You to Attend an Evening Open House

Waterstone at Wellesley, a new senior living community at 27 Washington St. under development since 2010, invites you to attend an evening Open House on Thursday, April 26 from 4 – 6 p.m. The community has been under development since November 2010. A Grossman’s Hardware store that stood empty for nearly 20 years was razed in June 2010 to make space for the project. 

This public event will feature cocktails and hors d’oeuvres and guided tours of the community by Waterstone at Wellesley team members. A Community Open House held April 22 drew more than 150 guests and attendance at Thursday evening’s open house is expected to exceed that. 

The 207,742-square-foot Waterstone at Wellesley includes 134 apartments for seniors 62 and older. It features independent and assisted living rental apartments, a fitness center, pool, theater, restaurant-style dining, designer kitchens, putting green, a riverfront walking trail and underground parking garage. Monthly rental fees range from $5,500 to $8,000+, depending on style and campus location. The community is situated along the Charles River and behind a CVS pharmacy and a Newton-Wellesley Hospital ambulatory surgical center, which are located along Washington Street. These tenants are part of the Waterstone at Wellesley development. 

The community will employ 50 full-time workers and is led by Executive Director Kristine Tilton. Tilton is a Wellesley native and graduate of Wellesley High School. Elkus Manfredi Architects is project architect, Wellesley Design Consultants provided interior design services, and Cranshaw Construction was general contractor.
