The Wellesley Hills Junior Women’s Club’s (WHJWC) is pleased to announced that the 11th Annual Luminary Night will take place on Sunday, December 10. On Luminary Night, the Wellesley community is encouraged to “share the light” by lighting luminary candles along their doorsteps and sidewalks to celebrate the holiday season.
Luminary kits are available online and at Roche Bros. customer service, Wellesley Dental Group and Wellesley Holiday Boutique. Each kit includes 10 luminaries and sells for $20. Kits purchased online will be delivered by December 10.
Luminary Night proceeds directly benefit the Wellesley community through scholarships for Wellesley High School students and grants for local non-profits. Last year, Luminary Night raised $27,000, with more than 13,500 candles lighting the town.
The WHJWC would like to thank all in the community who have made this a special annual event, from the businesses who support this fundraising effort to the neighbors who host Luminary Night get-togethers. The Wellesley Hills Junior Women’s Club is a volunteer organization of more than 80 women who give of their time through hands-on service and fundraising efforts. WHJWC’s annual fundraisers include Wellesley Marketplace, Luminary Night, Wellesley Kitchen and Home Tour, and the 5K Wonder Run and Kids Fun Run.
