Healthy Habits Kitchen (www.healthyhabitskitchen.com), a company dedicated to helping busy families eat healthy, today announced that award-winning author, Maria Speck, will be hosting a workshop and dinner at their facility on October 4, 2012 from 7 -8:30 pm.

At How to Create Quick & Healthy Meals Using Ancient Grains, Speck will teach attendees how to incorporate healthy grains, such as quinoa or barley, into everyday meals that individuals and families will love. They’ll learn about different grains and their health benefits as well as how to prepare and use them to create healthy, delicious recipes for all ages.

Maria Speck is the award-winning author of Ancient Grains for Modern Meals: Mediterranean Whole Grain Recipes for Barley, Farro, Kamut, Polenta, Wheat Berries, & More and a teacher at the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts. She has a lifelong passion for the subtle flavors and rich textures of whole grains. She grew up in Greece and Germany before moving to the US-this
unusual heritage is at the center of her cooking, writing, and teaching. Maria’s recipes are inspired by the ease and appeal of Mediterranean cuisine and the centuries-old traditions of preparing whole grains in Northern Europe.

The cost to attend is $35 per person and includes a signed copy of Ancient Grains for Modern Meals, dinner and a $10 credit towards any Healthy Habits Kitchen meals purchased that night.
