Wellesley Resident Starts Ayurveda Diet & Lifestyle Consultancy and Announces Ayurveda 101 Workshop

Life-long Wellesley resident, Kathy Mongeau, has announced that she is starting her own Ayurveda Diet & Lifestyle consultancy.  Ayurveda is the Sanskrit word for “life-knowledge”.  Believed to be one the oldest healing sciences, Ayurveda traces its roots to ancient India.  Because of its benefits, Ayurvedic remedies have been integrated into the many different evolving Western medical philosophies.  A serious fitness enthusiast, Kathy is a yoga teacher and received her certification as an Ayurvedic Diet & Lifestyle Consultant at the prestigious Kripalu School of Ayurveda.  Kathy works with clients one-on-one and in group settings to balance their physical and emotional wellbeing.  She custom designs plans that can be incorporated into her clients’ daily lives. In addition, Kathy implements fall and spring cleanses to reset and balance the energies in the body.  These cleanses are very beneficial in flushing out the toxins that accumulate over the prior seasons.

Ayurveda 101 Workshop
As part of her mission to teach as many people as possible about Ayurveda, Kathy is leading an Ayurveda 101 – Building a Foundation for Healthy Living workshop.  The workshop will be held on Sunday, October 20th from 1 to 4 p.m. at Laughing Dog, 159 Linden Street in Wellesley.  This workshop is focused on the healing power of Ayurveda’s ancient philosophy and traditions. It will integrate both classic Ayurveda and modern western science that can be applied to daily life. In addition, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental Five Elements of Ayurveda. These essential tools will give participants valuable insights in how to enhance physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. Participants will also learn how the seasons directly affect physical and emotional balance and how to adjust diet and lifestyle to compensate for these changes.
