Wellesley residents Bob & Kathy Mahoney presented Hopkinton nonprofit Greyhound Friends with a challenge grant. If Greyhound Friends raises $15,000 by January 31st, the Mahoneys will match that amount with a donation.

The Mahoneys are long-time greyhound adopters and supporters (Kathy serves as a board member for Greyhound Friends) and recently adopted Nova, who survived a rough situation in West Virginia after she was adopted by some neglectful people.

The challenge grant funds would be a great help to Greyhound Friends and is an opportunity they cannot let pass by. Expenses have increased including costs associated with transporting dogs from Florida, Kansas, and West Virginia. The dogs are isolated for 48 hours, then examined by a vet, and released into the general population. Hounds from the Midwest follow the same process. Transport and vet bills have added to the already high cost of keeping the kennel going.

Please click DONATE if you can help Greyhound Friends meet the challenge and take advantage of this generous demonstration of support. Please also indicate CHALLENGE on your on-line or mailed donation so they can keep track of this endeavor. Checks can be sent to Greyhound Friends, 167 Saddle Hill Road, Hopkinton, Massachusetts 01748.
