Disciple of world-renowned artist Sri C.V. Chandrasekhar, Malini Srinivasan is a third- generation Bharatanatyam dancer, teacher and choreographer. She is also a lecturer at the Asian and Asian-American Studies Department at SUNY Stony Brook and is a member of the dance faculty of the Young Indian Culture Group.

Bharatanatyam is an Indian classical dance form that dates back to ancient Indian drama from 2 B.C. Notable for its complex rhythmic footwork and intricate patterns made by the hands and arms, the dancer’s body becomes “geometry in motion.” Her performance will feature a live Carnatic orchestra composed of voice, violin, mridangam and tambura.  For more information, visit malinisrinivasan.com.
