Clara DeOrsay, a resident of North Hill in Needham, gets ready to blow out the candles at the senior living community’s celebration of her 105th birthday.
Originally from the Philadelphia area, Mrs. DeOrsay studied nursing and became an RN at Philadelphia General Hospital. This is where she met her husband Ralph, a young surgeon in training. Mrs. DeOrsay went on to receive her Bachelors degree and taught nursing students. Her husband was originally from Maine and the couple used to vacation in the Camden, ME area. Mrs. DeOrsay has been a member of the North Hill senior living community in Needham since 1997.
An inspiration to both Residents and Team Members, Mrs. DeOrsay attends three morning fitness classes every week, attends almost all of the evening programs, shops for herself at the onsite store, enjoys dining in the various North Hill dining venues, and greets everyone by name with a smile and a kind word. She moves through the community without aids.
