The One Hen Organization, dedicated to empowering all kids to become social entrepreneurs who make a difference for themselves and the world, will be hosting It Takes a Village on Friday, April 29th at the Wellesley Country Club.

One Hen’s primary fundraiser, this year’s It Takes a Village will feature live entertainment, a village marketplace offering fair trade items, a raffle, the opportunity to meet One Hen program graduates and award-winning local author Katie Smith Milway, upon which One Hen’s programs are built, and relaxed time to visit with friends—old and new.  Raffle items include a four-night trip complete with airfare and hotel accommodations in the Dominican Republic, Red Sox tickets, a weekend at the Huntington House in Stockbridge, VT, and a $150 gift certificate to DePrisco Jewelers. A generous donation from a local family foundation will match all funds raised.

Founded in 2009, One Hen is dedicated to developing and enabling young persons to solve some of the world’s most complex problems through the marketplace.  To date, One Hen has worked with schools, clubs, after school programs and summer schools to reach over 17,300 children and educators from 142 countries. Program partners include National Heritage Academies, BELL National and City Year.

“It Takes a Village” will be held on Friday, April 29th at the Wellesley Country Club. Admission is $75 per person; discounts available for groups of five or more.
