The Cambridge School of Weston’s Thompson Gallery hosts an installation of “Sexist Imagery of Yesteryear” from December 17, 2018 through March 15, 2019. CSW presents Evelyn Davis-Walker: House + Wife Revisited on exhibit in the school’s Thompson Gallery, located in the atrium of the Garthwaite Center for Science and Art.

In her House + Wife Revisited series, Davis-Walker examines the impact of the message in the medium. The artist was in residence at CSW February 25 and 26, and CSW students were able to assist with her installation that transformed the Thompson Gallery into a 1940s home, replete with period objects covered with collages that critically explore advertisement imagery. A reception for Davis-Walker was held on February 26th.

Thanks to Gallery Curator and CSW Faculty Member Todd Bartel who shared some “behind the scenes” images of CSW students assisting the artist with a few of the pieces in the show with us (#9-#11).
