New bilingual preschool to open in September

The Teddy Bear Club, one of greater Boston’s premier preschools, commenced the groundbreaking of their second location, in Lincoln MA, on February 14, 2013. The popular French/English bilingual school has been a mainstay in Newton MA since 1993, offering a unique preschool program for children from two to five years old. The school’s primary aim is to instill confidence and self-esteem in its students while building a solid foundation for their future academic success, in a warm and nurturing environment.

The brand new 12,000 square foot facility in Lincoln is located on a two-acre campus. The Teddy Bear Club (TBC) Lincoln is located at 239 Concord Road, half a mile south of the intersection of Route 126 and Route 117, and just a short drive from surrounding towns such as Weston, Wayland, Sudbury, Concord, and Lexington. TBC Lincoln will offer the same range of programs and curriculum as their highly acclaimed school in Newton.

The Teddy Bear Club’s teaching philosophy and curriculum was developed as a result of the director and founder Laura d’Angosse Perlman’s desire to blend the best elements of American preschool programs with some of the wonderful aspects of the French education she received growing up in Paris. TBC’s bilingual French environment, also a product of d’Angosse Perlman’s European background, is designed to take advantage of the many cognitive advantages for early language learners. All of TBC’s teachers speak French fluently.

“We are thrilled to expand our school to Lincoln,” said Perlman. “Lincoln has a wonderful and dynamic community and we are excited to have the opportunity to introduce our program to families in the area.”

The Teddy Bear Club is offering tours for both schools at the Newton location and is currently accepting applications for the 2013-2014 academic year. For more information about The Teddy Bear Club, please contact at 617-332-1611 or visit www.teddybearclub.org.
