The Wellesley Dental Group announced that it will be hosting a community blood donation drive on September 26th at the Wellesley Community Center. The drive, held in cooperation with the American Red Cross and the Wellesley Community Center, aims to collect more than 50 units of lifesaving blood.

According to the American Red Cross, each two seconds that passes by someone in the United States is depending on a lifesaving blood donation. The American Red Cross notes that even 1 donation can save up to 3 lives.

Dr. Femina Ali, D.M.D. of Wellesley Dental Group says, “if you are among the privileged 38% of people in the U.S. who meets the requirements to donate blood, I urge you to please consider donating— you could save lives!”

Members of the public are invited to attend. Donors with the following blood types are invited to donate by the Red Cross’ double red cell technology (2RBC):  O- , O+, A- , B-.
