Wellesley Hills Junior Women’s Club (WHJWC) is pleased to announce a mini pop-up version of the traditional Marketplace at 165 Linden Street the weekend of December 10-12th. The holiday shopping event will showcase nearly 55 vendors with crafts, gifts, specialty items, baked goods and more. Shopping hours will be Friday 12-5pm, Sat & Sun 9am-4pm.
Due to Covid, the club had to make the difficult decision earlier this summer to cancel their beloved large-scale Marketplace once again this year. “The decision was not made lightly, but it was the right one at the time. However, we heard from so many people how Marketplace was their favorite holiday shopping event, so we put our heads together to figure out how we could bridge the gap this year. We are really excited to bring POP to the community to continue raising funds for local grants and scholarships, and to support local businesses. POP will showcase some of our tried and true vendors while also mixing it up with some new artisans to give the Marketplace experience a vibrant and fresh twist. It’s going to be a great holiday shopping event,” says club President, Lindsey Crowley.
The event is free to the public and will showcase about 55 vendors over three days; many old favorites and some new faces. Artist Emily Quigley, Inc will be on hand with her holiday giftables, Pam’s Pashminas, Whale Tail Weaving, Sueños Artisanal Chocolates and Tina Labadini Designs are just a few of the vendors signed on for this event. There will be a sign up for a special holiday photo session for kids donated by photographer Keirnan Klosek, as well as free hot cocoa and coffee provided by the WHJWC.
Proceeds generated from Marketplace POP will go directly to support community groups, scholarships for deserving local students, and grants to organizations and programs that provide education, enrichment and essential services to our local population. Avoid the shipping nightmare this holiday season by shopping local and supporting your local community. Marketplace POP would not be possible without the generous support of our Corporate Sponsors: Teri Adler at MGS Group Real Estate, Needham Bank and Roche Brothers. Special thank you to Linden Square for providing the space for this event.
ABOUT THE WELLESLEY HILLS JUNIOR WOMEN’S CLUB (WHJWC): The Wellesley Hills Junior Women’s Club is a group of committed women who work together to help those in need in our community. We know that even in a community that is thriving, not everyone’s basic needs are being met. We work together to fill those gaps by providing needed volunteer support, funding, scholarships and donated items. Since 1944, WHJWC has provided women a way to work together to meet the needs of their time. We provide women a fun and meaningful way to get to know other women and to give their time to their community. We are well known for our generous grants and scholarship programs and our dynamic fundraising events that celebrate our community.
