More than 250 women business and community leaders from Greater Boston will attend the Women’s Cancer Program (WCP) Executive Council’s Beyond Boston Committee second annual luncheon on Thursday, October 1st from 11:30 am until 1:00 pm at Pine Brook Country Club in Weston. The Beyond Boston Committee is chaired by Rachel Solomons, Barbara Marx, and Kathy Stansky and is dedicated to helping find cures for women’s cancers.  The luncheon will include talks from Dr. Eric Winer, Director, Division of Women’s Cancers at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) and Chief Scientific Advisor for Susan G. Komen for the Cure;  and Ellen Freeman Roth, a writer whose work has been published locally and internationally, who will discuss her personal battle as a breast cancer survivor.  The luncheon will give insight to the innovative research that is done at DFCI through the financial support of the Council. Since 2004, the Council has raised almost $7 million to support early stage research in breast and ovarian cancers and has educated hundreds of women about issues that affect their health.
