Wellesley Theatre Project’s (WTP) will present IMPACT! Sings The 80s on January 11th and 12th at 7:00pm and January 13th at 2pm. IMPACT! Sings the 80s features all your favorite 1980’s hits — from pop, rock’n’roll, film, and (of course) Broadway — performed by students from the audition-only Junior and Senior IMPACT!
General admission is $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors in advance or $18 for adults and $12 for students and seniors at the door. The WTP Studio’s at the Wellesley Community Center is located at 219 Washington Street in Wellesley. Junior and Senior IMPACT! is WTP’s premiere performance outreach troupe, comprised of students ranging from 2nd grade through 12th grade who demonstrate advanced performance skills and leadership. The current students come from Wellesley, Natick, Needham, Concord, Dedham, Framingham, Waban, and West Roxbury communities. The group’s mission is to engage in their local and global communities through outreach by addressing important social values through performance. The group is led by WTP Music Director Eric Anderson, Jr.
Wellesley Theatre Project is an arts academy and a Wellesley nonprofit devoted to providing students (PreK – 12th Grade) with the opportunity to study and experience theatre and performing arts through year round classes, staged productions, workshops and summer camps.
Registration is open for WTP’s Winter/Spring semester, which include weekly classes in theatre, acting, musical theatre dance, tap, improvisation, private voice lessons, and musical theatre for students Pre-K through 12th grade. In addition, registration is open for WTP’s Winter/Spring productions of The Little Mermaid, Jr. (Grades 2nd- 12th) and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Audition Only- Grades 7th-12th).
Registration is also open for WTP’s 2019 Summer Camps. Sessions include three production camps geared for students between 2nd and 12th grade in addition to one week Theatre Arts camps for Pre K- 12th grade. The production camps are: A Year With Frog and Toad, KIDS! (Grades 2-8), Marry Poppins (Grades 2-12), and Bright Star (Grades 8-12).
