One Family,Inc. is hosting Families of Inspiration 2012, a family fun day to help support One Family’s mission to end family homelessness and raise awareness of the effects of poverty in Massachusetts. This unique event will be Co-Chaired by Penelope and Dan Fireman and held at Babson College’s Knight Auditorium & Lawn on Saturday, May 5th from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Families of Inspiration will feature live performances by local artists including Josh and the JamTones, along with games, arts & crafts, sports and other activities best suitedfor children ages 2-10. Activities throughout the day will transcend One Family’s motto to; educate, inspire and lead, teaching children the same “Little Engine That Could” attitude displayed by countless One Family Scholars who have beaten the odds and achieved goals that at times seem unachievable.

“We’re thrilled to host a community event that will provide a fun, inspirational afternoon for families across the state and more importantly, will raise awareness of family homelessness”, said One Family Executive Director, Denise Durham. ”I would like to thank lead sponsor Eastern Bank, along with major sponsor Dancing Deer Baking Company as well as all our contributors for making this unique eventpossible and supporting families living in shelters, our scholars and theirchildren and continuing the fight to end family homelessness in Massachusettsfor good.”

Eastern Bank President, Robert F. Rivers will be presented with One Family’s “Community Leadership Award” for his continued support of the organizations mission to end family homelessness at an exclusive award ceremony sponsored by The Jenzabar Foundation on Thursday, May 3.

“Eastern Bank and the communities we serve are very fortunate to have organizations such as One Family, Inc. working with families in need,” said Rivers. “I am proud and honored to work alongside One Family, Inc.’s dedicated staff and volunteers.”
