GOLDEN BALL TAVERN MUSEUM TO HOLD ANNUAL HOLIDAY OPEN HOUSE SATURDAY, DECEMBER 13, 2014 FROM 1 – 3 PM

Come see the historic, Revolutionary era Golden Ball Tavern Museum  at 662 Boston Post Road in Weston decked out in its holiday finest! The Golden Ball’s Holiday Open House will take place on Saturday, December 13th from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. The event is free and open to the public. The GBT will be seen in full holiday splendor with themed decorations courtesy of the Country Garden Club of Weston, which annually creates a unique and fully reimagined display for the Tavern. Come see what this year’s theme will be! Tours and refreshments will be available and all are welcome. Don’t miss out on this treasured holiday tradition!

Built in 1768, the Golden Ball Tavern was established and operated by Tory turned Patriot, Isaac Jones. The Tavern played a pivotal role in the unfolding of the Revolutionary War when it served as a base for British spies. The house and Tavern were later occupied and carefully preserved for 200 years by 6 generations of the Jones family. The Tavern is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is entirely self-sustaining.

The Holiday Open House is a prelude to the Golden Ball Tavern’s members-only Wassail event on Sunday, December 14th. Please consider joining today; memberships are available through the website at www.goldenballtavern.org. Photos from last year’s patriotic-themed Holiday Open House can be seen on the Tavern’s Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/goldenballtavernmuseum.  Don’t forget to LIKE Us on Facebook!
