Healthy Habits Kitchen (, a company dedicated to helping busy families eat healthy,  announced an event designed to free people from an unhealthy body image and behaviors. On Wednesday, March 23, 2011 from 6:30 – 8 pm, Healthy Habits Kitchen will host Mindful Eating, a dinner and workshop, along with Diana Cullum-Dugan, RD, LDN, RYT, a Watertown resident and nutrition expert.

Mindful eating shifts our consciousness from unintentional triggers that lead to unsatisfying and unhealthy choices to acceptance and awareness of the present moment where change begins. At Mindful Eating, attendees will explore their relationship with food, body image and emotions, as well as provide freedom from emotional eating, a greater awareness of when one is hungry or satisfied and the ability to let go of perfection.

Cullum-Dugan is a registered dietitian and Anusara-inspired yoga teacher with a specialty in weight management and binge and compulsive eating. Her interest in nutrition began as a pre-teen when she struggled with her own weight. She has managed the outpatient Nutrition and Weight Management Center at Boston Medical Center, has directed multiple clinical trials and taught numerous workshops and classes.

Healthy Habits Kitchen creates and sells healthy meal kits that contain everything that is needed to cook a nutritionally balanced meal easily in less than 30 minutes. The kits contain ingredients like pre-chopped vegetables and fruit, a protein, sauce and spices, depending upon the recipe. Individuals follow the directions on the box, making dinner entrees like Broiled Tilapia with Thai Coconut Curry Sauce, Fruited Chicken Curry Stew, Quick and Healthy Chili and Shrimp Putanesca with Wheat Pasta.
