Tablaist Ramchandra “Ramu” Pandit is a longtime professional performer of classical Indian music and one of the musically rich city of Banaras’ foremost tabla teachers. Sitarist R.N. Goswami is known as a senior artist in Banaras; he is one of Banaras’ most prominent sitar teachers. On this night, their traditional Indian ragas converse with the powerful percussion of world music artist John deKadt in an exploration of the cultural exchanges of rhythm, poetry and song—an exuberant journey into therhythm of the soul.  A tapestry of haunting lyrics and hypnotic rhythms, this event will take the audience on a wonderful artistic and musical journey that is in turn evocative, playful and deeply moving.  For more information visit johndekadt.com and ramuandgoswami.wikispaces.com.
