Weston Public Library
Jon Sakata plays a recital of piano music in the Community Room of the Library. Mr. Sakata was one of the first soloists to perform on our beautiful piano and has been a faithful contributor to our concert series ever since. In the past several years he has appeared with his wife, pianist Jung Mi Lee, but this year Mr. Sakata plays a solo recital. His program will be the Bach partita # 1 in B flat major, Schumann Toccata op. 7, and Brahms Chaconne for left hand alone after Bach. Mr. Sakata has taught piano, harpsichord, and composition at Phillips Exeter Academy since 1994 and was a recipient of the Bronislaw Gimpel Memorial Award. He and his wife have recorded extensively and have concertized throughout the world.
