Kitty Martin – KITTY LITERATURE VOLUME ONE

at Wellesley Books,   82 Central Street Wellesley, MA 02482

Presentation, Q&A, Book-signing

Join popular bar tender and beloved writer, Kitty Martin, as she shares her stories and poetry inspired by her bar stool patrons, internet forays and employment escapades.  Reminiscent of David Sedaris, Kitty’s classic wry humor will have fans laughing at contemporary life and reminding us of the humor that lays everywhere –including uninsured hospital beds, sword classes for kids and asking, “Are those drinks ready?”

ABOUT THE BOOK

With story titles like “Sword Instructor wanted for kids,” it’s easy to see how critics fashion Kitty’s first volume in the style of David Sedaris.  Her collection of short stories and poetry are inspired by real-life events.  Created to put a smile on your face, local author Kitty Martin’s poetry will be served with laughter instead of Scarlet Martini’s.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Kitty Martin was born and raised in Newport, Rhode Island. Her articles and stories have been featured in literary journals such as Cantara One and the Katherine Press and she was the associate editor for the international sailing magazine Cruising World. She has worked as a writing instructor at both the high school and college levels. Kitty currently lives in Boston and, on any given night, you can find her behind the bar at 51 Lincoln in Newton Highlands.
