On Saturday, June 1st, the first ever Wet Paint Auction will feature freshly created works of Weston artists as a part of the Weston 300 Field Day. Local painters will set off that morning with their easels to capture their favorite scenes, following the plein air tradition of working outdoors in nature. Participating artists will scatter across the town. Paintings will be gathered and displayed later in the day at the entry tent to the Grand Celebration Concert on the Weston High School fields, where the works will be juried for cash prizes and available for sale in a silent auction.

This exciting event is being organized in cooperation with the Weston Arts & Crafts Association (WACA), and proceeds will benefit the Weston 300 Legacy Trail Trust. This paint-out is a chance for us to celebrate the creative talents of Weston artists, young and old, professional or hobbyist.

Paintings not sold at the Saturday auction will be displayed again the following day at the WACA Spring Awards Show & Sale being held the same weekend at the Josiah Smith Tavern Barn.

Artist participants and anyone interested in painting plein air on June 1st should contact Weston 300 at weston300@westonmass.org, or Larry Grob, Event Chair and WACA Board Member, at lagrob@mac.com, for details.
