Wellesley College Upstage, Wellesley’s largest student theatre organization, is pleased to announce its 2014-2015 season to be performed at Wellesley College.

The 2014-2015 season will include Peter Pan, or The Boy Who Would Not Grow Up by J. M. Barrie, in a new version by John Caird and Trevor Nunn, directed by Carrington OBrion, ’15 (October 23-26); Time Stands Still by Donald Margulies, directed by Danielle Zarbin, ’16 (December 4-7); Dumb Show: The Most Technically Dumb Show Ever Written by Rowan Winterwood, ’16, and Xena Vronay Ruggles, ’15, directed by Rowan Winterwood, ’16 (February 12-15); and The Lion in Winter by James Goldman, directed by Mara Elissa Palma, ’15 (March 5-8).

Wellesley College Upstage is committed to providing students with the opportunity to experience all facets of theatre — Upstage’s members are responsible for every aspect of their shows, including directing, acting, set design, lighting design and production. Membership in the organization is open to any Wellesley student, and Upstage is committed to providing valuable education and hands-on experience both to members and to the entire Wellesley community.

“Upstage is an amazing organization, and offers students the experience to help them succeed in careers in theatre and film after graduation,” said 2014-2015 Wellesley College Upstage President J Taylor D’Andrea, ’15. “Because Upstage does not hire any outside actors or production staff, we offer the only opportunity on campus for all Wellesley students to learn about theatre, through completely immersive hands-on experience. We have people from every major and every class year involved in our productions. This year, we are also reevaluating our calendar to add more workshops, talkbacks and community outreach, and we hope to partner with local schools and community theatres to hold workshops and school performances.”

All Upstage productions are held on campus in Wellesley’s Diana Chapman Walsh Alumnae Hall, either in the Ruth Nagel Jones Theatre or on the beautiful Barstow Stage.
