The 2016 Wonder Run 5K and Kids Fun Run fundraiser, sponsored by the Wellesley Hills Junior Women’s Club (“WHJWC”), will once again take place on Wellelsey’s Wonderful Weekend on Sunday, May 22nd, attracting runners and walkers of all ages!
Wonder Run 5K participants will begin their scenic run through Wellesley at the Wellesley High School (WHS) track at 8:30am. Prizes will be given to the top male and female runners in each of the following age groups: 18 and under, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60+. Children participating in the Fun Run will complete one or two laps around the WHS track, depending on age.
Pre-registration for the Wonder Run 5K ($25) and Kids Fun Run ($5) is now open @ www.whjwc.org. Same day registration will be $30 for the Wonder Run 5K and $10 for the Kids Fun Run. Register early – the first 300 registrants for the 5K will receive a participant swag bag and Wonder Run 5K T-Shirt. Swag Bags will be available for up to 500 registrants.

The Wellesley Hills Junior Women’s Club is a volunteer organization of more than 70 women who give of their time through hands-on community service and fundraising efforts. The WHJWC sponsors several annual fundraisers, including the Wellesley Marketplace (November), Luminary Night (December), Wellesley Kitchen and Home Tour (May) and Wonder Run (May). In 2014, the WHJWC’s charitable giving program awarded $130,000 in WHS scholarships and charitable grants to local non-profits.
