WELLESLEY THEATRE PROJECT MOUNTS A CHRISTMAS CAROL
Wellesley Theatre Project (WTP) will present, A CHRISTMAS CAROL Saturday, December 19 and Sunday, December 20 at 2pm and 7pm.  All performances will take place at the WTP West Studio located at 98 R Central Street, Wellesley.  A limited number of tickets are available at $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors, and may be purchased online at www.wellesleytheatreproject.org in advance, or at the door.

Adapted by Michael Wilson, this theatrical and spirited version puts the phantasmagoric qualities of the tale center stage. A swirling, chorus of ghosts weave through this uplifting holiday story of redemption, magic and hope.  Director Ben Rush says, “A Christmas Carol is such a timeless piece and iconic part of the Winter season for many. I’m ecstatic about bringing WTP’s voice to it and putting our own stamp on this holiday chestnut.”

Director Ben Rush also shared that, “This production marks an exciting new branch of programming for WTP.  A Christmas Carol is WTP’s first non-musical production after mounting four seasons of musicals. This show is also WTP’s first audition based production in our history. Participation in this play was limited to only those students selected for roles after an audition”. This production class began rehearsing in October, and features a talented cast of 14 students between the ages of nine to eighteen who bring to life this classic ghost story.

A CHRISTMAS CAROL production staff includes: Benjamin Rush, Director; Megan Pillsbury, Costume Designer; and Seif Cristobal, Lighting Desinger.  Cast members of A CHRISTMAS CAROL reside in Wellesley as well as neighboring communities including Needham, Newton, Waban, and Natick.

Wellesley Theatre Project is an arts academy and a Wellesley nonprofit devoted to providing students (PreK – 12th Grade) with the opportunity to study and experience theatre and performing arts through year round classes, staged productions, workshops and summer camps.
