wtp_impact_cabaret2_posterWellesley Theatre Project (WTP) will present Love Rocks! A Musical Cabaret on February 27th at 2pm and 7pm and February 28th at 2pm featuring students from the audition-only touring group, IMPACT! Admission is $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. WTP is also happy to request canned meal donations for the Wellesley Food Pantry. The WTP studio is located at 98R Central St. in Wellesley. Tickets can be purchased online or at the studio.

 

IMPACT! is comprised of students ranging from 4th grade through 12th grade who demonstrate advanced performance skills and leadership. The current students come from Wellesley, Framingham, Needham, and Newton communities. The group’s mission is for the students to engage in their local and global communities through outreach by addressing important social values through dramatic performance. Love Rocks! A Musical Cabaret will feature solo and group performances with singing and dancing appropriate for all ages to new and old rock songs such as “Somebody to Love,” “Hit Me With Your Best Shot,” “Chasing Pavements,” and many more. The group is led by Hannah Shihdanian, WTP’s Director of Community Outreach/Resident Choreographer; and Tristan Bouchard, Music Director.

 
Wellesley Theatre Project is an arts academy and a Wellesley nonprofit devoted to providing students (PreK – 12th Grade) with the opportunity to study and experience theatre and performing arts through year round classes, staged productions, workshops and summer camps.

 
Registration is open for WTP’s Spring Session and 2016 Summer Camps. Sessions include three production camps geared for students between 2nd and 12th grade in addition to one week Theatre Arts camps for Pre K- 12th grade. The production camps are: Disney’s Alice in Wonderland, Jr. (Grades 2-8), Annie, Jr (Grades 2-12), and In the Heights, the Musical (Grades 8-12).
